Well, how about scoring it at wholesale cost? You read right, wholesale. For one day only, Sarah Cavender Metalworks (500 Main St., Oxford) is opening its doors to all you fashion- and savings-savvy ladies (and gentlemen). Beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, you can check all those names off your list as you score exquisite pieces of wearable art at wholesale prices.
Best of all, 25 percent of sales will benefit Saving Animals Volunteer Effort (S.A.V.E.), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing unwanted and homeless companion animals in Calhoun County through low-cost spaying and neutering.
This all-day shopping event will feature lovely necklaces, bracelets, rings, purses, belts, scarves and hair accessories — whew! Enjoy complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres from 4-7 p.m. while you shop. And with a minimum $100 purchase, you can select a ring of your choice FREE. Win-win-win.
German Vogue, InStyle, Smithsonian Catalog and Anthropologie all have featured pieces from Sarah Cavender Metalworks. Its creations have been spotted on celebrities and are sold worldwide. All items (comprised primarily of plated or oxidized brass finished with a lacquer coating, which seals and beautifies the jewelry) are handcrafted in the Oxford shop, which proudly carries the “Made in USA” certification.
Thursday’s benefit sale is the perfect time for you to snag some gorgeous jewelry and accessories while helping a local organization.
S.A.V.E. is dedicated to reducing the population of stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats in Calhoun County by supporting spay and neuter programs, educating the public on the plight of uncontrolled breeding and funding spay and neuter surgeries for low-income families. The group’s ultimate vision is to empty all of the shelters in our area.
The organization’s board members have devoted much of their lives to local civic organizations and charitable causes, dedicating time, money and soul. They all share a love of animals and the conviction that we can make Calhoun County a better place for all dogs and cats (and their owners!) by spreading the message to spay and neuter.
Through local fundraising events — Cupcakes for Critters, Sips for Snips wine tasting and this exclusive jewelry sale — S.A.V.E. continues to raise funds for and promote awareness of its mission.
S.A.V.E.’s officers include Millie Harris, president of the board of directors; Leigh Caputo, vice president; Margaret Hatley, treasurer; and Sylvia Galeano, secretary. Other board members include Janie Arnold, Susan Cook, Melinda Farrell, Donna Fathke, Cathy Gowdy and Lu Moseley.
