Anniston police today are investigating an alleged assault reported Saturday on the 1200 block of Constantine Avenue.

A 51-year-old man told police he and a female acquaintance got into an argument at his home between 4:30 and 4:45 Saturday morning, Lt. Fred Forsythe said. During the argument the woman got a knife from the kitchen and used it to cut the victim’s left arm, Forsythe said.

The lieutenant said the victim was taken to Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Police are still investigating the incident, Forsythe said. A suspect is likely to face felony second degree assault charges, according to a police report.
