Piedmont girls upset Wellborn

PIEDMONT — The Bulldogs lit it up from behind the arch Monday night, connecting on 12 3-pointers to cruise by Wellborn 64-35.

Sarah Garner had 21 points, including five 3s, 11 rebounds and seven steals for Piedmont. Paige Webb had 12 points and hit three 3-pointers. Hilarie Hincy put up three 3s and 10 points. Brea Dixon had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Natalie Johnson scored 14 points for Wellborn.

Ragland 65, Ohatchee 26 — At Ohatchee, Paige Gann scored 20 points for the Purple Devils.

Emily Church put up 16 points and Belle McKinney had 10.

Ragland (18-3) travels to Springville on Friday.

White Plains 54, Weaver 12 — At Alexandria, Mikayla Owen finished with 16 points and seven rebounds for White Plains.

Jordan Coleman had 14 points and five steals and Blaire Crabtree had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The Wildcats (11-9) travel to Saks today.

Anniston 57, Cleburne County 11 — At Heflin, Patricia Pickens put up 14 points in Anniston’s win Monday.

Daica Wilson scored 13 points and Tanjanik Munford had 10 for the Bulldogs.

Anniston (22-2) travels to Cherokee County on Thursday.

Ranburne 61, Randolph County 38 — At Ranburne, Julia Daniel went 6-for-6 from the foul line in a 28-point, 12-rebound and seven-assist effort for the Bulldogs. Amy Lovvorn, Lindy Green and Leah Mobley added eight points each.

Ranburne (15-4) plays today at Wellborn.

BOYS

Randolph County 72, Ranburne 25 — At Ranburne, the Tigers picked up their 10th win Monday, with Nate Boyd leading the way with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Ty Sparks totaled 13 points and eight assists and Drew Benefield had 13 points.

For Ranburne, Colby Kelly scored 10 points.

Randolph County (10-7) travels to Cleburne County on Thursday.

Piedmont 78, Wellborn 53 — At Piedmont, Jamaal Johnson led the Bulldogs with 24 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Sloan Garner had 22 points, including five 3-pointers, five rebounds and four blocks. Noah Willis had 11 points, six assists and four steals and Derrick Jackson had five points, six rebounds and four assists.

Piedmont led 35-29 at the half.

For Wellborn, Dejuan Traylor had 14 points, Delrickus Rhoden scored nine and Dalton Screws had nine.

Weaver 55, White Plains 48 — At Alexandria, the Bearcats limited White Plains to 23 points through three quarters Monday night.

Torrance Williams led Weaver with 14 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Chris English added 11 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals. Malik Anderson had 11 points, four rebounds and three blocks and P.J. Montgomery had seven points and eight rebounds for the Bearcats, who were 15 of 20 from the free-throw line.

For White Plains, Dylan Randall put up 13 points and Konnor Amis had 11.

Weaver (14-7) plays today at Jacksonville Christian and will host Lincoln on Thursday at Alexandria’s old gym.

Cedar Bluff 78, Faith Christian 65 — Cole Parks scored 31 points and hit seven of nine shots from the 3-point line for Faith. Zach Owens added 12 points for the Lions.

Faith (8-12) travels to Jefferson Christian today.

Anniston 75, Cleburne County 49 — At Heflin, Jabrielle Snodgress scored 27 points and had four assists to lead the Bulldogs. Denzel Roberts added 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Darius Cottingham had 12 points and five assists.

Anniston travels to Cherokee County on Thursday.

Pleasant Valley 68, West End 22 — At Pleasant Valley, the Raiders were led by Bubba Woodard who scored 17 points and Garret Preston with 16. Austin Tate added 14 points, and Aaron Strickland had 10 points.

Pleasant Valley (8-10) hosts Sand Rock today.

Sacred Heart 64, Victory Christian 46 — At Pell City, Cory Powell scored 22 points, and Corey Dudley had a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds to lead Sacred Heart to a win. Chase Lecroy added 12 points.

Sacred Heart (13-7) hosts Spring Garden today.
