George Phillips celebrated his 100th birthday Aug. 4. He has been a resident of Anniston for 88 years and is one of five children to Frank and Cornelia Graham. He worked for L.A. Draper and Sons for 35 years as a truck driver and crane operator. Phillips is the oldest and still active member of Good Will Lodge No. 59 for more than 75 years, advanced to the 32nd degree. He is a longtime deacon at First Missionary Baptist Church. He and his late wife Willie Lee Teague were together more than 60 years and had six children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
