The Alabenton Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Ayers room of the Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County, 108 E. 10th St. The program, “It’s all about Learning,” will be presented by Deanna Slappey. Visitors interested in genealogical research are welcome to attend.

Munford Schools will host a “GO Day” event in partnership with the U.S. forest Service and the town of Munford 9 a.m.-1 p.m. May 11 at 365 Cedars Road, Munford, as part of National Get Outdoors Day. Special guests include the Anniston Museum of Natural History and Dr. George Cline from Jacksonville State University. Photo opportunities with Smokey Bear will be provided too.
