As Ragland beat Collinsville 54-49 in overtime in a regional semifinal, Brock hit four foul shots toward the end of regulation and a big one in the extra period. He finished with 15 points, five rebounds, five steals, making 7 of 10 free throws.
Brock made two free throws with 2:16 left for a short-lived one-point lead. Then he made two with 13 seconds left to tie it 47-47 and send the game into overtime. With 30 seconds left in the extra period, Brock made a runner in the lane, drew the foul and made the free throw for a 53-49 lead.
Ragland (26-6) will play either Spring Garden or Skyline in the regional final Friday at 2:15 p.m. at Jacksonville State.
For Collinsville (27-4), Deshawn Moore had 18 points and 14 rebounds, despite sustaining a bloody lip midway through the game, which required a large bandage.
And as for Brock's free throw two years ago, Ragland coach Andy Eden said, "It's been a topic of discussion. Jimmy brings it up, not us."
