An operational methamphetamine lab was found Thursday night next door to a day care facility in Piedmont, according to a news release from Piedmont Police Chief Steven Tidwell.

Officers with the Piedmont Police Department's narcotics unit found the lab about 7:30 p.m. inside a detached garage at a residence and the garage is about 30 feet from the day care facility, Tidwell said. Preston Keller, 28, and Darla Keller, 30 were arrested at their home on Sterling Street for unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance.
