On April 13 the City of Jacksonville partnered with RSVP, the Calhoun County Recycling Center and the Calhoun County Landfill  to sponsor the third Take Pride in Jacksonville Day.

More than five dozen residents walked our city streets picking up litter. At the end of the morning a dump truck parked at City Hall was filled with litter and other discarded items.

A pick up truck was stacked to the brim with old paint cans. The electronics bin contained used computers; the Cub Scouts collected hundreds of aluminum cans brought in by area residents.

The sponsors are deeply grateful for the participation of so many, especially, Cub Scout Pack 19 and Boy Scout Troop 19 and their parents and leaders who come out every year in force to make their town a cleaner place.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success.

We can “Take Pride in Jacksonville” every single day of the year. A cleaner town starts on your own street.

Do not litter and when you see litter pick it up and dispose of it properly.

Our neighborhoods and our town will be the winners!
