Anniston Police arrested a Jacksonville woman on charges of drug possession after a traffic stop Wednesday.

According to Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks, Kharma Heard, 42, had been pulled over for an expired vehicle tag on the corner of Chestnut and Front Street in Anniston around 3:18 p.m.

Sparks said that during the stop, officers searched Heard’s vehicle. The sergeant said they found prescription bottles scattered throughout the vehicle. According to Sparks, the bottles contained Xanax and Hydrocodone.

Heard was released from the Anniston City Jail on a $2,500 bond today.
