Jacksonville State tops SIU-Edwardsville 75-62

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Brian Williams scored 19 points and had eight assists and Jacksonville State erased a 9-point deficit early in the second half for a 75-62 victory over SIU-Edwardsville on Thursday night.

Jacksonville State (11-5, 3-2 Ohio Valley) trailed 40-31 with 17:29 left before making its comeback. Tarvin Gaines hit a pair of free throws and Jacksonville State went ahead to stay 43-42 with 13:19 left.

Four other players scored in double figures for Jacksonville State. Ronnie Boggs had 16 points, Gaines had 14, Nick Cook had 12 and Darion Rackley had 11.

Jerome Jones scored 15 points to lead SIU-Edwardsville (4-9, 0-3), and Michael Messer had 14 points and nine rebounds.
