The three of us have the privilege of leading and managing the team of government and contractor employees who safely stored, moved and demilitarized the Anniston chemical munitions stockpile. The assembled team of men and women did an excellent job. Consequently, the community and the environment were protected and our own jobs were, in retrospect, relatively easy and trouble free.

While we appreciated the quality and the professionalism of Team Anniston, it was only natural for us to wonder if the community shared our immense pride, respect and appreciation for our co-workers. We no longer have to wonder. We attended the Community Appreciation Day at the Bynum Community Center on Aug. 25. It was a great event enjoyed by many of our co-workers and family members.

On behalf of the Anniston chemical munitions team, we offer our sincere thank you to Calhoun County Commissioner Eli Henderson, Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce Chairman John Blue, AOD Federal Credit Union President and Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Reynolds and all of the volunteers and sponsors involved in honoring all of us at the “Westinghouse Anniston Family Appreciation Day.” We believe the event put the exclamation point on what has been accomplished to date.

Again, thank you.
