Hammett: Bingo legislation was proper
Alabama House Speaker Seth Hammett says he doesn't know why he was called to testify before a federal grand jury looking into possible corruption involving electronic bingo legislation.
Hammett told The Huntsville Times on Thursday that he assumes he will be asked if he knows of any impropriety with a bill to regulate and tax electronic bingo. But Hammett said he doesn't know of anything improper with the legislation.
