Editorial writers in Alabama often refer to our state's fairly lengthy list of prominent corruption cases. It is, admittedly, an embarrassing list.

The good news is that, according to the most recent survey from BusinessInsider.com and numbers from the Department of Justice, Alabama is not among the absolute worst states in terms of corruption. That top spot goes instead to Louisiana, the state of Huey Long, David Duke and many others.

Alabama is in the top 10, however, at No. 8, just behind Mississippi.
