Gas price increases not expected to stop Alabama travelers

Although the average price of gas in Birmingham is racing toward $3.50 per gallon, AAA expects more people to travel this spring break.

They might not go as far, stay as long or spend as much once there, but AAA Alabama spokesman Clay Ingram said that, after years of recession, folks are ready to hit the road.
