Fight over alcohol may have led Athens man to stab friend

An Athens man remains in critical but stable condition in Huntsville Hospital following a stabbing Sunday night in Athens, while the accused remains in the Limestone County Jail on a charge of first-degree assault, an official said Monday.

After receiving a call about a stabbing Sunday night at 808 Malone St., Athens Police officers stopped a vehicle traveling south on Malone and arrested Brandon Glass, 29, of 14600 Elk River Mills Road, on charges of driving under the influence and attempting to elude, Capt. Floyd Johnson said.
