It may be 2011, but it just as well could have been 1861 in Montgomery on Saturday as a crowd of hundreds marched up Dexter Avenue to the state Capitol to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the swearing in of Confederate President Jefferson Davis.
Men, women and children dressed in Civil War-era attire flocked to the Capitol to celebrate the sesquicentennial of Davis' inauguration. The event included speeches, the firing of cannons and a re-enactment of the inauguration of Davis.
