God blessed us with beautiful weather for our 2013 Homecoming services. As usual we had a full house of friends and family to help us celebrate and remember our loved ones. Mrs. Genell Cobb delivered an inspiring Memorial Address reminding us of the history of Cedar Creek and the many people it took who gave their time and talent to build up the Church and the church building to what she is today! We thank them for their service and love. As the children went outside to place roses on graves we enjoyed testimonies from many who expressed their love for Cedar Creek and the part she played in their life and the life of their family. We look forward to this part of the service each year

Music was provided by Redemption Song. Hand clapping and toe tapping was enjoyed by all! We were blessed by their music ministry!

Pastor Donald’s message came from I John 2:18-27 “Life in the Last Hour”. As hard as it is to believe there are many today who deny Christ even within our churches. The Apostle John says this is a sign of the beginning of the last hour or end of all things. There are false teachers who teach beliefs that are not in the Bible. They pretend to be part of Christian churches but in truth they do not even believe in Christ. The Bible teaches to know Christ the Son is to know God the Father. To deny the Son is to deny the Father. If we remember the message of Christ, Who He is, what He did and turn away from false teaching then we will remain (abide) in God and the Son. We must study God’s Word and allow His Holy Spirit to reveal It’s truth to us.

After service we all enjoyed food and fellowship with “dinner on the grounds”!
