Bridge jumper survives
The Gadsden Times reports that a man is alive after jumping from the Meighan Boulevard bridge into the Coosa River this morning.
Stan Gilbert walked down Meighan and slowly trekked up the bridge and over the rail. Passersby saw Gilbert jump and went in after him.
“I was just helping the guy out,” said Woody Burnes. “I first thought it was a wreck. I saw everyone looking around and then I realized that someone had jumped.
“I just went in to help him out. I was tired when I got there.”
