Anniston police today were investigating an attempted drive-by shooting at a home in the 500 block of Saks Road. The 20-year-old man who lives at the house called police around 4:30 p.m. Thursday to report that a vehicle with people firing multiple guns had just driven by his home.

Sgt. Josh Doggrell said the man knew the suspects and noted that the incident was part of an ongoing feud between the two groups of people.

Police declined to release a description of the vehicle involved in the attempted shooting, saying the case was in too preliminary a stage to do so. Investigators also were gathering more information about exactly how many people were in the vehicle, who they were and what types of guns were used.

So far, no damage to any property had been reported as a result of the gunfire, Doggrell said.
