This country is drowning in drugs and crime. The list of senseless killings goes on and on. This recent drama unfolded in a movie theater in Aurora, Colo. Twelve people were shot and killed and more than 50 injured, some serious. Is there any place where Americans are still safe?

Too much violence on TV and movie theaters inspires sickos to do the unthinkable. Sex offenders, like a spreading cancer, are living all over this country. Children are kidnapped and snatched out of their beds or in front of their house. No place is safe for them anymore. Are we going to end up a “locked-up society?” Many people have home-security systems, but does that secure enough safety?

We need to keep Americans safe. There also is a big need for stricter gun control. Every case makes me realize how very vulnerable we are.
