The Class 4A team that won six straight games after a 1-3 start in 2009 is at it again. The Valley cubs upset 5A Boaz 17-14 on the road on Friday.
It marked Alexandia’s second consecutive victory after a 0-3 start. The Valley Cubs beat Jacksonville this past week after losing to Leeds, Oneonta and Anniston.

Three plays netted only 4 yards, and, on fourth-and-six, Truett hit Baker over the middle for a 42-yard touchdown strike. Emmanuel Aragon added the point after to cut the lead to 10-7 with 1:50 left in the third quarter.
On Alexandria’s first play from scrimmage following the kickoff, Harper ran for 23 yards but coughed up the ball. Logan Vann recovered for Boaz at the AHS 43.
