TUSCALOOSA – Albertville High star Riley Norris became Alabama basketball’s second 2014 commit when he announced his commitment on Twitter today.

“It has been a long process, but I'm excited to say I chose to play ball at the University of Alabama,” Norris tweeted.

Norris’ commitment comes on the heels of Wenonah point guard Justin Coleman, who committed to Alabama last week.

Norris, a 6-foot-7, 180-pound small forward, is rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN. He is rated as a top 100 prospect nationally by all three services.

Norris picked the Crimson Tide over offers from more than 20 other schools, including Florida, Tennessee and Auburn, among others.

The tweet also included a statement that read:

“I am thrilled to announce my decision to commit to the University of Alabama and my intentions to sign in the fall. I am very appreciative of the other programs that showed interest in me. However, I have been an Alabama fan since childhood and I am tremendously grateful for the opportunity to represent my Family, the University and my home state as a student-athlete. The coaching staff at Alabama has been very supportive of me during this process and have helped me to realize that Alabama is the right fit for me on and off the court. I want to thank my family for all their support and for being there for me throughout the process. I can’t wait to join my future teammates in Tuscaloosa! Thanks and Roll Tide!”
