21-year-old mom charged with abuse of 6-year-old son
A Level Plains mother who claimed her 6-year-old son tried to hang himself with a necktie was charged with aggravated child abuse on Monday for allegedly abusing the boy on multiple occasions.
Elizabeth “Michelle” Barnes, 21, of Level Plains, was in the Dale County Jail under no bond on Monday as her son underwent medical treatment, according to Dale County Chief Sheriff’s Investigator Harvey Mathis.
