The Mad Hatter’s Cupcake Shop in Jacksonville is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a birthday bash Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The celebration will include door prizes and all-day $2 cupcakes, and Steve Stevens from 97.9 WVOK will broadcast live from the Coffee Street bakery from 1-3 p.m.
Party-goers can start getting into the festive spirit now by working on their entry for a creative cupcake hat contest. Pull out those old cowboy hats, hard hats, baseball caps, fedoras, straw hats — whatever you’ve got tucked away — and turn it into a cupcake-themed showpiece. And don’t be afraid to think outside the cupcake tray — judges will award first, second and third place prizes based on creativity. The first prize winner will receive $50, a T-shirt, a dozen cupcakes and 12 free cupcake coupons. Judging takes place at 2:30 p.m.
