Keith Kelley never stops learning from his job.

Kelley, who works at Century 21 Harris-McKay Realty in Anniston, has been in the realty business for more than 20 years. Kelley transitioned to the business from his background in construction, which he said has helped him understand commercial properties and clients better. But that isn’t what he enjoys most about his job.

“Honestly, it’s working with people, which sounds cliche, but it really is,” he said. “Nothing is the same from day to day.”

And although the economic challenges require real estate agents to have patience and understanding in the current market, Kelley still looks forward to going to work every day.

“Who else gets to go to work every day and try to help people achieve the American dream of owning a home?” he said. “It doesn’t get much better than that.”

Kelley also said the realty business has allowed to him to combine his passion of local and state politics as well, especially since there is a lot of overlap in government regulation and the realty property.

And although Kelley is honored to be recognized, he said he does not deserve all the credit.

“You can’t look at one person. It’s really those I get to work with every day,” he said. “We all learn from each other. You don’t ever quit learning.”
