Up to 30% of the Talladega National Forest may be leased for extraction of natural gas through fracking. Serious environmental problems have resulted elsewhere. The JSU Earth Club and Ethics Club are sponsoring a public informational meeting on the topic. This is the public comment period, so letters can be sent to protest the leases if people are concerned. This is the time to become informed and to protect our water, air, and recreational resources.
