Re “Large number of absentee ballots cast in runoff” (News article, July 8):

How very patriotic, thoughtful and caring of James Montgomery to seek out the disabled, shift workers, military and others to exercise their right to vote via absentee ballot. Montgomery and his campaign workers did an outstanding job judging by the unprecedented number of absentee ballots garnered.

Consider for a moment that if Fort McClellan was still active, Montgomery might have been able to amass enough absentee ballots to outnumber the poll-booth voters. Me thinks skulduggery is afoot.

I could be wrong, but two wrongs do not make it right. When one swims in muddy waters they are apt to lose sight of their goal. Do we the people not have enough problems on the national level without having the same taint our local level? Stupid is as stupid does. If the shoe fits, wear it.
