We again have had a successful Woodstock 5K race, and it is all due to our director for the past two years, Haley Gregg.

She has surrounded herself with outstanding volunteers, such as Anniston Runners Club members, the Rocky Hollow Neighborhood Association, other Annistonians too numerous to name, Anniston High’s outstanding football players, Anniston High’s band playing the national anthem, the many runners who come to this event, Anniston police and fire departments, the city of Anniston and PARD director Steven Folks.

Gee, if I have left someone out, please forgive me, and know that you were appreciated if you were there. This has become an event, and what an event for Anniston. I hope the Anniston Runners Club is helping our One City, One Vision make money from this event.

We had quite a few spectators cheering for us as we ran down Woodstock Avenue, and boy, was that an inspiration. We love this every year, and we really do appreciate The Anniston Star’s coverage of this event.

So, Haley, take a great big bow, and pat yourself on the back for an outstanding job. Well done, my friend.
