Speak out ... Loss of John Bolton

12-18-2006

John Bolton's resignation elated United Nation's head hoodlum, Kofi Annan, history's most successful thief.

It was a resounding victory for American-hating U.N. members who live luxuriously in America while ignoring its laws.

It thrilled liberal Democrats who would rather pledge allegiance to the U.N. instead of Old Glory.

It was a terrible loss for America because Bolton always put her interests first.

Consider the odds

While conceding that graduate-level courses in statistics did not qualify me to evaluate coaches and athletic directors, they did sensitize me to variables.

If a coach is 26-23 in four seasons and an athletic director is searching for a coach for the fourth time in his seven-year tenure, which is the odds-on favorite?

UA's dilemma

The University of Alabama continues to search for a coach who can follow one of football coaching's hardest acts — “The Bear.”

What Bama fans can't fathom is that even if they were able to hire a coach who was as good or better than Bear Bryant, they still couldn't follow his awesome act because “The Bear” act included unlimited recruitment of most football talent sought by SEC competitor coaches.

No UA coach will ever be able to perform “The Bear” act because he will be competing against awesome competitor talent, who in the day of Bryant would be firmly ensconced on the Bama bench.
