Speak Out
Speak Out ... On an absence of outrage
|
One is the picture of an Iraqi prisoner with a dog collar and a leash and wearing only his underwear. Which is worse, that picture or the picture of the burning body of an American civilian killed in Iraq by people from the “Religion of Peace”? Or, the picture of Iraqis dancing in the street celebrating the murder of four American civilians by the people of the “Religion of Peace”? Or the sickening picture of the burned bodies of four American civilians hanging by ropes from the top of the steel frame structure of a bridge, again murdered and on display by the people of the “Religion of Peace”? Or, finally, the picture of a burned body part of a murdered American civilian hanging high from a wire that was put there by the people of the “Religion of Peace”? Where was the worldwide outrage for these atrocities? The media did NOT publish them nor did Congress rise to the occasion and demand justice. Only when those poor, helpless Iraqi prisoners were mistreated were the cries heard all over the world. What a pitiful bunch of hypocrites we have in this country! David Sharp Is there a clear mission in Iraq? No: This fight against Iraq is based on a lie, a lie that has changed since the beginning of this conflict. Iraq was never a threat against the United States.Like most wars, economic considerations took the forefront in this war to influence the control of the oil production, to limit the interest of Russia and France in this vital region, to build a military powerhouse on Syria’s and Iran’s border for future strikes. If you take the one-sided handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict out of the equation with the Muslim world, America had no problem with the Arab world. This war is a crime committed by the Bush administration against international law and should be brought to the world court. There is no justification for all the death and suffering of our soldiers and the Iraqi people for the power play of a few. H.
