Oh, my gracious! Tell me I’m wrong in what I think I see as I study this society of ours, trying to see what in the heck we think we are and what we are up to as a power nation in the world.Every time the price of gas gets down to a dollar or so, what seems to happen? The designers of autos and trucks race to their desks and computers to see who can design the biggest, the most powerful, and most hungry for that gulp of gas. Why is this? Why do we think that cars and trucks should be so big. The bigger they get the smaller our roads and highways become.
What is it we are trying to prove? If you want to drive one of those things (the bigger they get, the more ugly they become) do so, if you got the money to buy them it’s your American right to do so. Just tell me why is it that you desire such monsters of the road?
I hate to start a new study or branch out to another segment of the knowledge tree, but it looks now that I may have to take up the study of “the psychology of why people buy what they do, and what promotes the idea to do so.” Darn it, I thought when I got out of high school study was over. Was I foolish! I’m 71 and that’s all I’ve been doing since. The longer I live the more I see the need to read and study.

Incineration
It’s not time to burn. Not until the money and equipment and training is in-place to mitigate the mistakes that will happen. If the burning begins without those necessary things, it will truly show the idiocy of the whole process. I agree it’s time to get rid of the poisons, but never at the cost of public safety. Never.

Discrimination
I’m a 20-year-old male and I’m tired of being discriminated against because I’m a male driver. My insurance company said young male driver rates are higher than females based on statistics. I think it’s unfair. Insurance companies are practicing discrimination and they are sexist.
Discrimination is discrimination, it doesn’t matter what your race, gender, religion or age is. If they’re going to base rates on gender then they should include cell phone users, smokers, (distractions while driving) religion (driving every Wednesday and Sunday), and any other things that would affect driving statistics.
