That otherwise idiotic full-page ad taken out by the Chamber of Commerce and CAP in the March 17 Sunday Star does contain two ideas I agree with: safety indeed is the issue; and the schools of Calhoun County need to be overpressurized. What else is the ad saying?
It seems to be saying: let’s overpressurize the schools and then immediately begin the burn, as if all the other demands for maximum protection don’t matter.
The chamber and CAP do state in the ad that they “strongly disagree with (Gov. Siegelman’s) announced intention to delay or halt start up of the destruction,” by incineration.
One can only assume this means the Chamber and CAP believe that none of the hospitals and nursing homes need to be over-pressurized; that day-care centers don’t need protection; that the county’s 3,900 handicapped and special-needs citizens don’t need individualized protection; that firemen and police don’t need first-responder training or equipment; and that the outdated nerve agent risk assessment doesn’t need to be updated so that we can know how far to extend the pink zones.
And who is legally responsible for protection of the people? Who’ll be held accountable if someone gets injured?
According to ADEM, it isn’t the Army; it isn’t FEMA; it isn’t Tim Garrett, as he himself recently pointed out in an interview with the Mobile Register; it isn't Westinghouse.
According to ADEM, it’s our governor and Calhoun County Commissioners and Calhoun County EMA.
Thank God they’ve all had the guts and courage to stand steadfast in their demands.

Bias
Well, I see where the media is showing its incredible bias again. Just another issue where they try to impose their immoral values on us. I’m referring to the backlash against the Alabama Supreme Court ruling against a lesbian mother seeking custody of her three minor children.
The biased media is so used to having liberal socialist judges make law from their benches that they don’t know what it is anymore to have honest judges cite laws on the books.
Why should it be any surprise that it was a unanimous decision from the Alabama Supreme Court.
The court made the right decision and the general population of America knows the media lies and twists things to suit their agenda.
Maybe that’s why your ratings are plunging!
