SAND ROCK — Funeral services for the Rev. R. B. Carver, 92, will be at 7:30 tonight at Perry Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-7 tonight.

HOBBS

OAK LEVEL — Memorial services for Mr. John T. Hobbs Jr., age 81, of Cleburne County will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at The First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary an hour prior to the services. Mr. Hobbs died Monday after a short illness at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

JACKSONVILLE — Funeral service for Elvin S. Kadle Jr., 81, will be Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Revs. Jerry Pike and Phillip King officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Kadle died Monday, August 11, 2008, at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Kadle; two daughters, Carol Kadle and Judy Goodwin, and her husband Rick; one son, Keith Kadle and his wife, Pamela; two sisters, Margie McCool and Jenny Faye Parrish; four grandchildren, Chad and Neil Goodwin and Jacob and Silas Kadle; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Paul Kadle, David Dilleshaw, Vann Walker, Tom Kilgore, P.D. Pritchett and Lacy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons and men of Bonnie Brook Baptist Church. Mr. Kadle was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin S. Kadle Sr. and Bama Kadle. Mr. Kadle was an avid gardener and story teller and he liked to travel. ANNISTON — Erma S. Mihlfried, 95, died Saturday, August 9, 2008, at NHC in Anniston. A celebration of Erma's life will be at a later date. K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center will be in charge of Mrs. Mihlfried arrangements. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn S. Harper; a niece, Peggy Harper; three nephews, John Harper, Allen Joseph Harper and Thomas Harper; numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church McClellan. Mrs. Mihlfried was a member of First Baptist Church McClellan. Some people touch your hearts like the flutter of a butterfly, quietly, silently, gently and ever so beautiful. Erma Mihlfried who quietly left us on Saturday was like the butterfly who touches our hearts yet never leaves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Mihlfried. ROCKHOLZ

CHALFONT, Pa. — U.S. Army (retired) Staff Sergeant Phillip G. Rockholz, 50, died August 10, 2008 at Doylestown Hospital in Chalfont, Pa. Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn; three daughters, Kristin Rockholz Burgess, Julie and Vanessa Rockholz; two granddaughters, Jazalyn and Alannah Burgess; his father, William L. Rockholz; and two brothers, John and Peter Rockholz. He was predeceased by his son, Paul and his mother, Phebie. Phillip G. Rockholz was born November 22, 1957 in Norwalk, Conn. to William L. Rockholz and Phebie E. Gardner Rockholz. He served in the U.S. Army from 1976 through 1996. After his retirement, he was employed as a Service Technician for Tri State Bio Medical in Colmar, Pa. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008, and from 10-11 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2008, at Scanlin Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Ave. (Route 202), Chalfont. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in New London, Conn.

THOMASON

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — U.S. Army Master Sergeant (Retired) Laurie Potter Thomason, 56, of Woodbridge, Virginia died August 7, 2008 at her home. Laurie was born March 22, 1952 to the late Floyd Potter and Lois Davis Potter, formerly of Delta, Ala. She served in the U.S. Army as a Radiology Administrator and retired following 22 years of honorable service.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Thomason; mother, Lois Potter, of Virginia; sister, Beverly Brown and husband, Paul Hureau, of Massachusetts; brother, Bruce Potter, of Utah; and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside service, military honors and interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at the Delta Cemetery in Delta, Ala. On-line condolences may be sent at www.benefieldfuneralhome.com. ANNISTON — Funeral services for Robin Tolbert Foster, 40, will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2008, in the chapel of Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. David Lockridge officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Foster passed away on Friday in her home.

Survivors include her husband of 16 years, Steve Foster; her loving mother Janice Tolbert; sisters, Tracy Hampton and her husband, Doug, and Melanie Tolbert. She was the loving daughter-in-law of Bob and Darlene Foster. Nieces and nephews include: Tyler Hampton, Sara Hampton, Jason Fidder, Joshua Foster, Jacob Hampton, and Julia Foster. Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by Leola Talley, Jimmy Tolbert, Rosalie Tolbert, Richard Torrence, Ellie Torrence, and her father Jimmy Ray Tolbert. Robin Tolbert Foster was a resident of Anniston. She graduated from Walter Wellborn High School in 1986 and was inducted into the national military honor society: B Company, 9th Regiment Scabbard and Blade, at Jacksonville State University. Mrs. Foster received her BA from The University Of Alabama in 1992. Robin loved our Lord and enjoyed good fellowship. She was a member of the Blue Ridge Ministry, His Answer Ministry, The Cross Ministry, and the Joyce Meyer Ministry. WALKER

ANNISTON — Mr. Joseph Eldridge Walker, 74, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at his residence.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Walker, of Cowan, Tenn.; three daughters, Sandra Hernandez, of Lansing, Ill., Janet Davis, of Dechard, Tenn., and Karen Beshears (Brad), of Manchester, Tenn.; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Janis LeFoy (Louis), of Anniston and Rebecca Barnes (Ronald), of Homestead, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Neva Casey Walker; a daughter, Brenda Arp; and brothers, Johnny, Jerome, and Jimmy Walker.

Graveside services for Mr. Walker were held at 4 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2008, at Reeves Grove Cemetery, in Ashville, Ala. Lemley Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

WINGARD

WEAVER — Funeral services for Mr. John Wingard, 79, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with the Rev. Andy Lambert. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Wingard died Saturday at Jacksonville Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Gail Wingard, of Dothan and Mary Jean Land and husband, Obie, of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Bobby Wingard and wife, JoAnn, of Weaver and John F. Wingard and wife, Rebecca, of Lakewood, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Kathy Butts, Cindy Blair, Melissa Wingard, Crystal Wingard, Zachary Wingard, Joshua Wright, Crystal Wright, and Zachary Land; two great-granddaughters, Cheyenne Wingard and Addie Wingard; two sisters, Mattie Doyle and Christabel Chavis; two brothers, Cal E. Wingard and J.R. Wingard; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wingard is preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Pallbearers will be members of the family. Mr. Wingard is a native of South Carolina and a long time resident of Calhoun County. He was a veteran of Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired from AOD as a security Guard. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge of arrangements. (256) 236-3441
