BALLARD

ANNISTON — Funeral services for Edna C. Ballard, 88, will be 1 p.m. today at K. L. Brown Memory Chapel with the Rev. Robert Hurst officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 11-1 p.m. Mrs. Ballard died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Ballard and is survived by a son, William Franklin Ballard and his wife, Carole of Birmingham; two grandchildren, Beth Thomas and her husband, Lee of Knoxville, Tenn. and Frank Ballard, Jr. and his wife, Nanci of Valdosta, Ga.; four great grandchildren, Kristen Thomas, Katie Thomas, Ann Marie Thomas and Bailey Burgess; three step brothers, The Revis Cole of White Plains, Garvin Cole of White Plains and Alvis Cole of White Plains.

Pallbearers will be Frank Ballard Jr., Lee Thomas, Jaquay Burns, Edward Ballard, Randy Ballard and Rodney Ballard. Mrs. Ballard was a native and life long resident of Calhoun County and a member of Carpenter Memorial United Methodist Church. She was retired from Monsanto with over 30 years service. OXFORD — Funeral services for Elmer J Cannon age 74 of Oxford will be announced later. Mr. Cannon died on Sunday at Golden Living Center of Oxford.

Survivors include his wife, Josie Mae Cannon of Anniston; daughters; Tawana Clay of Heflin, and Twila Fleming of Woodland; son Olin Shane Cannon of Anniston; brother, John Cannon of Tennessee, sisters; Sara Slizewski of North Carolina and Jean Lee of Oxford; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. OXFORD — Graveside services for Mrs. Edna Creed Eaves, age 73, of Oxford will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 15 at Forestlawn Gardens with the The Rev. Chris Spurlin officiating. The family will received friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home & Crematory. Mrs. Eaves died on Saturday July 12, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Eaves was survived by her husband, Curtis L. Eaves of Oxford; daughter, Donna Marcella Eaves of Rainbow City; four sisters, Virginia McComb of DeArmanville, Zelma Howard of Lemoore, Calif., Mary Nixon of Morrow, Ga., and JoAnn Creed of Fairburn, Ga., 12 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Eaves was a native of Randolph County and a resident of Oxford. She was a home maker.

DELTA — Funeral services for Mrs. Ima Lou Phillips, 83, of Delta will be 11 a.m. Tuesday July 15, 2008 at Center West Baptist Church with the The Revs. Steve Dempsey, Jerry Colquett, officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Phillips passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Cleburne County but had lived most of her life in Randolph County, was a homemaker and a long time member of Center West Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday school for over 40 years. She is survived by two sons and daughters in laws, Donald Ray and Evelyn Phillips and Doyle Leon and Sylvia Phillips both of Delta; one sister Glenda Jarrell of Lanett and three brothers Joe Key and Virgil Key of Delta and Robert Key of Valley; six grandchildren Lou Phillips (Carol), Teressa Watkins (Wayne), David Phillips (Christi), Travis Phillips (Jeannie), Dwayne Phillips (Brenda), Tanya Rice (Jamie), and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel Cephas Key and Tommie Jane McLeod Key; her husband, Freddie Phillips; one sister, Dorothy Moncus, and two brothers, Oma and Virdis Key.

Pallbearers will be: Doug Johnson, Johnny Buckhannan, Johnny Johnson, Paul Johnson, Roger Buckhannan, Wayne Luker and Gene Miller. The family will receive friends today July 14, 2008 at Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and until service time on Tuesday. ROBERTSVILLE — Funeral service for Mr. James Robert Roach, 74 of Robertsville, formerly of Wellington will be 11a.m. Tuesday July 15, 2008 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with burial to follow at Union Methodist Cemetery in Wellington. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Tony Green and the Rev. Kenneth Crow. Friends are invited for visitation from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home this evening. Mr. Roach passed away Friday July 11, 2008 at his residence.

Survivors include is wife, Geneva; his daughters, Ann Roach, Trena Roach; sons, Harold Roach, Darryl Roach, Eddie Roach and Kenny Roach; sisters Margaret Broome and Betty Kelley; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and many nieces an nephews.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Holman, Michael Roach, Chris Roach, Josh Roach, Ricky Kelley, Shannon Kelley, and Aaron Kelly. Mr. Roach was a native of Wellington and a member of Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church. He proudly served his country for eight years in the United States Navy.
