Janice Roland Dunn, Oxford OXFORD — Funeral services for Janice Roland Dunn age 65 of Oxford will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008, in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in the Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Dunn died on Thursday at her residence. Survivors include her children, Diana Haynes and her husband Tim, Tommy Dunn, and Rikki Graben and her husband Keith; sister, JoAnn Hammonds; brother, J.W. Roland; grandchildren, Shannon Haynes, Christopher Haynes, Brittany Graben, Haleigh Graben, Grace Haynes and Abigial Dunn; great-grandchildren, Aubree Haynes, Tara Haynes, Kynslee Haynes, Tori Haynes and Tristan Haynes. Janice was a lifetime resident of Calhoun County. She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Mr. Edsel L. Fowler, 84, who passed away July 3, 2008, will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Post Oak Baptist Church. the Rev. Deryl Wood will officiate. Masonic rites will be in Oxford Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today from 4-6 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory. Mr. Fowler will lie in state from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at the church. Mr. Fowler was a native of Randolph County and a long time resident of Calhoun County. He was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church and The Hartwell Masonic Lodge #101. He loved fishing, gardening and farming. He was retired from SouthTrust Bank and the co-founder of Fowler Tire Service in Alexandria. He is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Julie Fowler; daughter, Linda E. Fowler Allen; four brothers and three sisters. Mr. Fowler was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois E. Fowler; son, Ray Wilton Fowler (Donna); son-in-law, Frank Allen; sister, Elouise Fowler Prater Reaves; grandchildren, Donald Bright (Debra), Brett Allen, Thad Fowler (Marlaina), Carrie Fowler Gann (Jacob); 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. PIEDMONT — Mrs. Lucille Freeman, 82, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation in Centre. She is survived by her husband, Cullen Freeman; a daughter, Marcia Rhinehart and her husband, Robert; a son, Kim Freeman; a sister, Nadine N. Parker and her husband, Barlow, all of Piedmont; four grandchildren, Gina (Randy) Minton, Heather (Shane) Greer, Erin Freeman and Tracy Freeman; three great-grandchildren, Connor Minton, Michael and Tyler Geer; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Freeman was a member of the First Congregational Methodist Church in Piedmont, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a worthy Matron of the Eastern Star and a beloved wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Annie Norris. Funeral services for Mrs. Hale will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Heflin Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Stevens, The Rev. Don Maddox and The Rev. Philip Morris officiating. Mrs Hale was a long time resident of Heflin. She retired from Colonial Bank after 37 years of loyal service. She was preceded in death by her father, F.M. Barber. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Bynum. Mr. Moates will lie in state on hour prior to services. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 until 8 at Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Moates died on Thursday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Stacy Moates; daughter, Brittany Moates; parents, The Rev. Thomas and Kathleen Moates; sister, Dianne Brohard and her husband, Gary; grandmother, Lela E. Dover; a special niece, Kristina Pogue; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. PIEDMONT — Services for Mr. O.J. Rainey of Piedmont will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home. Mr. Rainey died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Regional Medical Center. ANNISTON — Funeral services for Mr. Joe Nathan Truss, 58, will be at 1 p.m. today, July 5, 2008, at Refuge Full Gospel Methodist Church in Anniston with the Rev. Micheal Truss officiating. Burial will be in the Eden Hills Cemetery in Anniston with Anniston Funeral services in charge. The body will be at the church one hour prior to services. Full Military Rites will be honored. Mr.Truss died on Friday, June 27, 2008 at V A Medical Center in Birmingham. Survivors include two daughters, Jay Ray and Leah Erwin; two grandchildren, all of Lansing, Mich.; a devoted friend, Mary Golightly, of Anniston; three sisters, Mary Royal (Charles) Gage, of Lansing, Mich., Cathel Dowdle and Annie Lee (Joe) Phillips, all of Anniston; three brothers, Willie C. (Mildred) Truss, A.D. (Mary) Truss, all of Anniston and Milton (Harriet) Truss, of Lansing, Mich.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr.Truss was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was a 1968 graduate of Cobb Avenue High School. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps. He was preceded in death by his parents, The Rev.
