Harry Donald Ariail, Waco, Texas WACO, Texas — Harry Donald Ariail, 71, passed away May 15th after a courageous battle against cancer. Services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Ariail officiating and burial with full military honors in Bosqueville Cemetery. He is survived by Judy, his loving wife of 49 years; son, Terry Ariail and wife, Mellony; daughter, Michelle Ariail Hobbs; two grandsons, Jason Hobbs and Jacob Ariail; granddaughter, Sydney Ariail; mother, Gladys Prickett Smith; brother, James Ariail; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law; and friends. Don was born June 4, 1936 in Wellington, Alabama. He proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years. He was praised often during his service for his unrelenting loyalty, perseverance, and leadership. Among many recommendations and commendations he received during his military career, his family is most proud of the Bronze Star he received during his first tour in the Vietnam War. Don later worked for Baylor University for many years where he developed life long friendships. And while there he earned the deep respect of all his colleagues. After retirement, Don enjoyed gardening and spending time in his shop wood working, designing and building unique furniture, and building special toys for his grandkids. Friends and family enjoyed Don's many attributes such as drawing, creative problem-solving, dancing, and his love of music. He left his footprint on the world and his presence will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Broughton, 62, died Friday, June 6, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center. Services will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary. TUPELO, Miss. — Dorothy Jean Baggett Cochrane was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, on March 4, 1926, and died peacefully in Houston, Texas, on June 1, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Cochrane Sr.; her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, David Cochrane, of Baker, Nevada; a daughter, Debby Cochrane, of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter Becky Cochrane Wocken and her husband, Tom Wocken, of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Daniel, Josh, Sarah, Gina, and Aaron; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Arliss Goodroe; and one brother, John Baggett, both of Memphis, Tenn. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and friends across the country. Dorothy was a longtime Red Cross volunteer as well as a volunteer at several hospitals and Catholic charities. A private graveside service will be at Fort McClellan, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Dorothy's memory to VistaCare Hospice Foundation, 701 N. David Rice officiating. Interment will be in Hill Side Cemetery in Anniston. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Mrs. Scott passed away on June 5, 2008 after a long illness at her home in Anniston. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Lee McKay, Harry Watson McKay, and Dwight Wesley McKay, all of Lincoln. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, William Franklin Scott, of Anniston; one son, William Ridgley Scott and wife, Nancy, of Salem, Va.; three grandsons, Anthony Norris Scott, of Flower Mound, Texas, Michael Todd Scott, of Flower Mound, Texas, and David Lee Scott, of Roanoke, Va.; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Sara Elizabeth McKay Ray, of Eastaboga; and many nieces and nephews. Letha was a native of Lincoln and lived in Anniston the last 67 years. Letha was a very long time member of the Central Presbyterian Church and later the First Presbyterian Church. Letha was an inspector at the Oxford GE plant and later worked for many years at Coleman's ladies wear in downtown Anniston. Letha and her husband delivered meals on wheels for some time after retirement. Letha was a wonderful loving mother. Letha, an avid bridge player, was a life master. Pallbearers will be Jim Hanvey, John Hugh Talley, Harry Lee McKay, and D.W. McKay, Anthony Scott, and Michael Scott. Thank God for the care givers that gave such loving care during her final years, Renee Williams, Dona Shepard, Johnnie Shuler, and all the great caring people at Southern Care Hospice. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Anniston building fund. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary of Anniston will direct the services. (256)236-3441 DUMFRIES, Va. — Evelyn Dondeana Waldon went to be with our Lord on June 3, 2008 in Dumfries, Virginia. Dondeana was born on December 11, 1943 in Anniston, Alabama. She graduated from Oxford High School (Oxford, Alabama) in 1962. She had resided in Fort Walton Beach, Florida since 1976 and lived there until December 2007. She was 64 years young. Dondeana was employed by the Okaloosa County Clerk of Circuit and County Court as a deputy clerk, she worked there for over 25 years. She is preceded in death by her father, William McCulley; her sister, Patsy Dorenda McCulley; her niece, Patty Collins; and her former husband, Oliver Lee Waldon. She is survived by her mother, Sarah McCulley; her daughter, Dorenda Groat and her husband, Michael; three grandchildren, Brad, Jennifer and Ryan; and one great-grandson, Quinten; her sister, Ouida Collins; her niece Amanda Ray, her husband Todd and her children, Cassidy, Lydia and Gatlin. Funeral services will be at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel in Jacksonville on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 3 pm. with the Rev. Rick Varner officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
