WEAVER — Mr. Henry G. Chandash, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Mullino Chandash; one brother and two sisters of Pa.; two grandchildren, of Birmingham; special persons, Sue Kilpatrick, of Anniston, her son, Trent and wife, Terri; grandson, Riley, of Salem, Ala. ORLANDO, Fla. — A Memorial service for William "Lige" Horn will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Antioch Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

ANNISTON — Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Cline Horne, 68, will be announced by Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Mrs. Horne passed away Tuesday at her residence. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge of arrangements. (256)236-3441

JENKINS

HOKES BLUFF — Funeral services for Mary Lee Jenkins, 88, formerly of Webster's Chapel, will be 2 p.m. today at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home with The Brother John Hammonds officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Clencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel is in charge. Mrs. Jenkins went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2008. Mrs. Jenkins was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother who loved her children, loved cooking for her family and friends, if you every went by her house to visit, she would insist on you having a bite to eat or a cold coke to drink. She loved taking care of her family and friends. She is preceded in death by, her mother and father, Will and Georgia Bundrum; husband, Earmon Jenkins; son, Terry Jenkins; three brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her three daughters, Dolores Wright, of Jacksonville, Ala., Charlotte (John) Draper, of Austell, Ga., Sherry (Donald) Tillison, of New Liberty, Ala.; two sons, Nickey (Lynette) Jenkins, of Webster's Chapel, and Bruce (Celina) Jenkins, of Hokes Bluff, Ala.; one sister, Vera Edge, of Gadsden, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. A special thanks to all of her caregivers for the love and compassion they showed her.

PIERCE

JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services with full military honors for William F. Pierce, Sr., 62, of Jacksonville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. PINKARD

ROANOKE — Funeral services for Mr. Donald Rudolph Pinkard, 76, will be at 2 p.m. today from the Mt. Zion Christian Church with the Rev. Harold Bonner and the Rev. John D. Collins officiating. Mr. Pinkard will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial to follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Pinkard died Monday, May 12, 2008 at Randolph Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Black Pinkard, of Roanoke; two daughters, Donna Pinkard, of Roanoke, and Angie Pinkard (Steve) Key, of Newell; two sisters, Doris Chappell, of Sylacauga, and Carol Cohen, of Birmingham.

Pallbearers will be Harold Heard, Steven Turner, Gerry Burke, Shane Burke, Chuck Hickman, and Joey Hickman. Mr. Pinkard was born July 14, 1931, son of Oscar E. and Edna Garrett Pinkard. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church where he served as a deacon, song director and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Pinkard had been a Public Accountant in this area for fifty years, served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and owned DP Oil convenience store in Wedowee. Mr. Pinkard was preceded in death by his parents and one niece, Robyn Cohen. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Mt. Zion Christian Church.

SEALS

ROCKVILLE CENTER, N.Y. — Services for Ms. Bertha H. Seals, 97, formerly of Pell City, Ala., will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary. Ms. Seals died May 11, 2008.

SMITH

HEFLIN — Funeral services for Claude Gale Smith, 80, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Crumley's Chapel with the Rev. Tony Mahathy, the Rev. Duran Teague, and the Rev. Tim Coppock officiating. Burial will follow at Crumley's Chapel Cemetery in Ranburne. Visitation 6-8 tonight at Crumley's Chapel. Mr. Smith died Monday, May 12, 2008 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include, daughter, Teresa Montgomery, of Ranburne; two sons, Keith (Brenda) Smith, of Heflin, Chris Smith, of Heflin; brother, George O. (Clara) Smith, of Lineville; six grandchildren, Krista (Duran) Teague, of Ranburne, Kandi (Tim) Coppock, of Fyffe, Kim (Sam) Morgan, of Ranburne, Jody (Cheryl) Smith, of Heflin, Jeremy (Heather) Smith, of Helfin, and Justin Smith, of Helfin; 11 great-grandchildren, Kaci and Kanaan Coppock, of Fyffe, Katelyn and Kendall Teague, of Ranburne, Kassadi and Kolby Morgan, of Ranburne, Bella Smith, of Heflin, Tristen Hartley, of Heflin, Jonston Smith, of Heflin, Crimson Rollins, of Heflin, and Auburn Rollins, of Heflin.

Pallbearers will be Gregg Smith, John D. Brown Jr., Jeff Smith, Dennis Britt, Jason Webb, Dwayne Wiggins, Wallace Brimer and Sam Morgan. Mr. Smith, a native of Calhoun County was a resident of Cleburne County for 36 years. He was retired from Southwire Manufacturing Company and was a World War II Army veteran. He was known for loving the Lord and loving his family. He was a good friend to many and was an avid Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, D.O. and Claudie Fain Smith; a sister, Elsie Burnett; brothers, Joe and Billy Smith; and a son-in-law, Bill Montgomery. EDWARDSVILLE — Funeral services for Hazel Frances Thompson, 63, will be 2 p.m. today, at Edwardsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Garner and the Rev. Brent Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Cane Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Jerome Thomson, of Edwardsville; two sons, Glenn E. Thompson, of Heflin, and Jerome R. Thompson, of Ranburne; two sisters, Virginia C. Robinson and Helen I. Glynn, of Columbia, Mo.; grandchildren, Dylan and Ellis Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Hughlette Thompson, David Thompson, Larry Thompson, Dylan Thompson, Dave Thompson and Ray Noland. Mrs. Thompson was a native of Kansas City, Mo., and a resident of Edwardsville for most of her life. She was a member of Edwardsville Baptist Church and a Hair Stylist.
