Donald Philip (Donnie) Bryant, Albertville ALBERTVILLE — Donald Philip (Donnie) Bryant, 28, of Albertville passed away Monday night, April 28, 2008, on U.S. Hwy 431, Guntersville. A Memorial Service for Mr. Bryant will be at 2 p.m. today, May 1, 2008 at Carr's Chapel-in-the-Pines. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home. Grandfather, Bro. Philip Black will officiate. Survivors include his wife, Ashley Bryant, of Albertville; father, Don Bryant, of Anniston; mother, Catherine Black, of Albertville; sister, Destin Black, of Florida; father-in-law, David Whisenhunt, of Tennessee; mother-in-law, Janie Whisenhunt, of Jacksonville. TALLADEGA — Funeral services for Mr. Asie Jackson Bullard Jr., 66, will be 3 p.m. Friday at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation from 6-9 tonight at Usrey. PIEDMONT — Services for Garry Lee Carter, 59, will be at 2 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Jarrells and the Rev. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Carter died Monday, April 28, 2008 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Survivors include two daughters, Dusty Smith (Bryan), of Greenwood, Arkansas and Wendi Curtis (Danny), of Charleston, Arkansas; one sister, JoAnn King (Lathan), of Piedmont; three brothers, Glen Carter (Joyce), Loyal Carter (Judy), all of Piedmont, and Lavanual Carter (Margaret), of Centre; five grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Kayla Smith, Danielle Curtis, Dalton Curtis and Matthew Curtis; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Thomas Cain, David Trammell, Ronnie Carter, Kevin Pierce, Jason Scogin, Danny Curtis, Bryan Smith and Morris Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class at Piedmont Church of God and the residents he visited at Piedmont Health Care Center. Mr. Carter was a resident of Arkansas for 20 years before returning to Piedmont. He was a member of the Piedmont Church of God, a United States Army veteran, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Metal and was a sharpshooter. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and the outdoors and later in life he enjoyed visiting the residents at the nursing home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Audrey Carter and a sister, Phillis Carter. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Rittenour, of Wellington; one daughter Tara Hill and husband, Billy, of Sylacauga; one son, Robert Rittenour III, of Wellington; sisters, Dana Woofter and husband, Don of Ohio, Dee Holton and husband Mike of Virginia, Dianne Lewis and husband Jason of Ohio; brothers, Charles Rittenour, of Wellington and Bill Rittenour and wife, Bonnie of Ohio. Mr. Rittenour was an Ohio native and resident of Wellington the past eight years. He was employed with the H.V.F. and served in the U.S. Army for four years. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Robertson died Wednesday at Regional medical Center. OXFORD — Willene Styles, 89, of Oxford, Ala. and Fairfax, Va., died Tuesday, April 22, 2008. She was born October 18, 1918 in Newnan, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Styles. Willene Styles is survived by her son, David Styles, his wife, Patricia; three granddaughters, Meghan and her husband, Alex, Kristin, Elizabeth; and two great-granddaughters, Kalani and Sienna. Survivors also include a brother, Jay Davis, of Hayden; three sisters, Francis Crow, of Eastaboga, Wawena Phillips, of Bowdon, Ga. and Mildred Copeland, of Wilmington, N.C. She is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces and in-laws. Willene Styles worked for more than a decade at East Alabama Planning Commission and leaves behind several friends in the Oxford and Anniston area. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008 at Indian Creek Baptist Church, Bowdon, Georgia with Burial in the church cemetery. MUNFORD — Mr. Marlin Wells, 74, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at his residence in Munford. He was a native of Covington County and had been a resident of Munford for the past 52 years. He was a member of Munford United Methodist Church, a former employee of Newbury Foundry, former owner/operator at Wells Brothers Plumbing and a veteran of Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty Jo Wells, of Munford; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Phillip Caldwell, of Alexandria; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Debbie Wells, of Munford; sister, Betty Joyce Curlee, of Deatsville; brother, Billy Joe Wells, of Tuscaloosa, four grandchildren, Jeff Daniel, Brandi Prichard, Brett Wells and Erin Wells; five great-grandchildren, Hannah Daniel, Lauren Reaves, Olivia Daniel, Abby Prichard, and Fisher Prichard. Young, 67, passed away Monday at a local hospital. Ms. Young was 1st runner-up as Miss West Virginia in the Miss U.S.A. pageant in 1959. she attended Jacksonville State University for three years. While in Jacksonville, she was involved in many civic and charitable organizations. She enjoyed dancing and was a professional dance instructor many years. Later, she worked as an interior decorator, performing interior decorating for many homes in the Huntsville area. She is survived by her husband, William W. Young; son, James Randall Young; aunt, Julia Clements. Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Father Phil O'Kennedy will officiate. Twickenham Funeral Home South is directing.
