Mary C. Borders, Anniston ANNISTON — Mrs. Mary C. Borders, 94, our beloved mother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, April 17, 2008. Funeral service will be Monday, April 21, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with her son, DeWayne Borders officiating. Interment will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be all the grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Shelby and husband, Jerry Whitten; sons, Bobby Goodwin and wife, Pat, Roger Borders and wife, Gayle and DeWayne Borders and wife, Dianne. Mrs. Borders' grandchildren include Donna and Terry Curvin, Jeff and Kellie Goodwin, Barry and Angela Goodwin, Greg and Cindy Goodwin, Mark Goodwin, Ted and Lynne Whitten, Mechele and Martin Worthington, Temeah and Alan Harrelson, Dee and Taleah Borders, Kara and Laine Shaw, Shelley and Van Roberts. Her great-grandchildren include Tasha and Brandon Kilgore, Jordan and Mitchell Goodwin, Millie and Allison Goodwin, Heather Goodwin, Morgan and Aidan Goodwin, Peyton and Presley Whitten, Meghan and Melissa Worthington, Jack Henry Harrelson, Jalen and Alivia Borders, Caleb, Nathan and Allie Shaw, Reece and Tyler Roberts. Her great-great-grandchildren include Baylee and Tucker Kilgore. Waiting on Mother to join them in Heaven are her beloved husband, Hoyt D. Borders and her daughter, Betty Lou Goodwin. Mrs. Borders was a member at Friendship Methodist Church for 60 years. She worked for Linen Thread Company for 38 years. The family would like to extend a special thanks to New Beacon Hospice for all their love, care and support to our mother. Monday, April 21, 2008 at Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke with Pastor Ellis Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Chambers County. Mr. McMinn died April 18, 2008 at NHC Health Care GLENCOE — Mrs. Jolyne (Slaughter) Payne, 66, of Glencoe, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Collier-Butler Chapel with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. the Rev. Larry Brooks will be officiating. The family will receive friend from 5-7 tonight at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Mrs. Payne was born May 15, 1941 in Louisville, Miss. She grew up in Calhoun County and was a resident of Glencoe most of her life. Mrs. Payne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver. She was a member of Heath Baptist Church. Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband, James Lamar Payne; and parents, James Albert Slaughter and Willie Juelle(Allen) Slaughter. She is survived by her daughters, Lajuana (Robert) Andrews of Anniston, Kim (Mack) Martin of Rainbow City; cherished grandchildren, Danielle Andrews and Andrew Martin; brothers, James (Mary) Slaughter of Anniston, William (Shirley) Slaughter of Anniston; brother-in-law, Bobby Payne of Glencoe; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Marty Roberg, Eric Roberg, Joe Morris, Scott Morris, Jerome LaFollette and Jerry White.
