Carolyn Gannon, Eastaboga EASTABOGA — Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Gannon, 81, of Eastaboga, will be announced later by Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Mrs. Gannon passed away Sunday at Longterm Hospital of Anniston. ROANOKE — Funeral services for Joseph Earl Hall, 63, of Roanoke, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Spring Hill Baptist Church, in Lineville, with the Rev. Michael Strong, the Rev. Charles Caldwell and the Rev. Donnovan Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Lineville Community Cemetery. Mr. Hall will lie in repose at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Mr. Hall died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Clay County Hospital. Mr. Hall graduated from Clay County Training School. He was a Custodian at Clay County Nursing Home and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Kerley and Cora Hall; and daughter, Marcie Hall. Mr. Hall is survived by three daughters, Andrienne Hall, of Jacksonville, Fla., Meredith Muckelvene, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Apryl Hall, of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, James Kerley, Jr., of Lineville; three sisters, Emma J. Doyle, of Dayton, Ohio, Patricia Gibbons, of Lineville, and Annie Jo Golden, of Albany, N.Y.; a special friend, Mable Nkanta; former wife, Mary Hall, of Anniston, and seven grandchildren. TALLADEGA — Mrs. Flora Johnson, 65, died April 12, 2008, at her residence. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will announce the arrangements. ANNISTON — Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Pointer, 47, Anniston, will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with the Bishop Leroy Austin. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Glencoe. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Pointer passed away Saturday at RMC. Survivors include three sons, Donald Frye, Howard Fry, and Ricki Pointer; six grandchildren, Justin Frye, Samual Frye, Gada Frye, Hunter Frye, Hailey Frye, and Gabriel Frye; sisters, Margie Wyatt and Lois Lara; brothers, Rogar Pointer Jack Pointer, and Ramon Pointer; six nieces and 13 nephews. Pallbearers will be Clint Wyatt, Jonathan Burdette, Manuel Lara, Donald Frye, Ramon Pointer, and Rogar Pointer. Mrs. Pointer is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Alline Pointer; two sisters, Joyce Jarrell and Jackie Thomas; and one brother, Aire "Bimbo" Pointer. Mrs. Pointer was a native and lifelong resident of Anniston. Jean was a wonderful person and was loved by so many. She was the best MawMaw and mother that anyone could ever ask for.
