When Terry Young was a child, his family gathered often at the home of his grandmother to look at slide shows of photographs taken by his uncle and cousin, Lee Young and Danny Pointer. Terry didn’t know it at the time, but that was the beginning of his love affair with photography.

A Piedmont utility committee meeting fizzled before it could begin Monday, after committee chairman Frank Cobb left the room, objecting, he said, to a discussion going on among local landlords there.
One of the latest projects the Piedmont Benevolence Center has taken on is the Regaining Access to Mobility Program (RAMP). The organization purchases the materials to build a ramp at a person’s home where mobility would be an issue without it.
Craig Russell is asking the city of Piedmont to have an arborist look at several old trees along Main Street before the next close call threatens another life.
Once again Piedmont City Schools have been recognized as a leader in education. School Superintendent Matt Aiken recently received news that the school system had won the prestigious Little Red Schoolhouse Award given by the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools.
