GADSDENJurors in the Monsanto PCB trial deliberated four hours Thursday and took the afternoon off because one of the jurors was unable to find a babysitter for her child.
"We're working around the jurors' schedules," said Calhoun County Circuit Judge Joel Laird, after dismissing the jury at 1:30 p.m. The deliberations are expected to begin again today at 9 a.m.
The jury appointed its foreman on Wednesday, after the closing arguments in the initial phase of the Bowie vs. Monsanto trial.
The trial began Jan. 10. The first 17 plaintiffs in the case allege property damages and emotional distress due to PCB contamination in the Anniston area.
