Five Anniston Army Depot workers were tested for nerve agent exposure Monday after liquid nerve agent spilled on them last Thursday.
The workers were in the process of repackaging leaking M55 rockets. None of the workers have shown symptoms of nerve agent exposure, said Lt. Col. Bruce Williams, commander of the depot's chemical weapons stockpile. Williams said he learned of the spill Monday after returning from vacation.
"It is a precautionary measure," he said. "We did it as Monday morning quarterbacking."
The test, which measures cholinesterase levels in the blood, will indicate whether the workers received any exposure. The results from the blood test were expected at noon today.
"This doesn't lie, this is the fingerprint," Williams said.
