First annual community “Back to School” event, hosted by Titlebucks and Anniston City Schools, will be Saturday at Titlebucks, 2101 Quintard Ave., next to Stedham Jewelry. The St. Charles annual yard sale will be 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church, 308 7th St. NE, Jacksonville. Yard sale leaders are willing to pick up large items that are ready to be donated to the event. Smaller items may be dropped off at the church during the week. A free coupon class will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Oxford Public Library. Bring a canned food item for a local food pantry.

The 2014-2015 Alexandria School registration for grades 6-12 will be held 4:30-7:30 p.m. Monday in the grade-appropriate homerooms. Updates will be posted on the school website in July at www.calhoun.k12.al.us/ah/. New student registration only for grades 6-12 will be held 8 a.m.-noon Tuesday. New students registering must have Social Security card, last report card (transfer grades), Alabama immunization record, name/address of former school, proof of residence (current power bill) from June or July, proof of custody (if applicable) and birth certificate. Students must present a copy of their current power bill (June or July) with actual service address listed (No P.O. box) at registration in order to receive their schedule. Students will not receive their schedules without current power bill. In order to purchase a parking decal, students must have an Alabama driver’s license, provide proof of insurance and tag number of the vehicle that will be driven to school. Locker fees are $15 and parking decals are $20. Student parking lot rules and vehicle information forms are located on the Alexandria High School website.

National Night Out, sponsored by the Anniston Housing Authority, will be 6 p.m. Tuesday in the middle of Cooper Homes, 1414 Cooper Ave. The event is about communities and neighbors coming together and showing unity. The free event will feature music, food, bouncers, games, information and is open to the public. Call 256-236-1575, ext. 123, for more information.

The Jacksonville Photo Club will meet 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday at Jacksonville Public Library in meeting rooms at back of building. The agenda will include a nature photography presentation. Beginners and anyone interested in photography are welcome.

Family Links, Inc., is accepting enrollment for its Early Childhood STEP Program (Systematic Training for effective Parenting) for parent(s)/guardians/caregivers of children birth to age 5. The sessions are provided in-home and provide information and skills to improve family communication, encourage cooperation, utilize effective discipline and mutual respect and help families learn to live cooperatively.
