Bocephus may have started out the runt of his litter, but according to dog mom and JSU senior Sam Strange, he’s the big man on campus these days — all 130 pounds of him.

“Everybody on this campus knows Bo,” says Sam.

In fact, the 1 ½-year-old Great Pyrenees-Blue Tick Hound mix is an honorary  member of her boyfriend’s fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. He’s even featured in the frat composite picture complete with red bowtie, drool and his trademark carefree wink.

“I got lucky,” says Sam. “He’s real laid back” — just like that other freckle-faced country boy she named him after, Hank Williams Jr.

Of course, when this Big Bo goes on the road he’s more likely looking for food than fame.

The last time he took off, recalls Sam, “we found him at the Delta Chi house, drooling over some guy’s chicken.”
