Debbie Tomlinson said she and her husband, Chuck, haven’t changed, but the name of their business has. Warren Ace Hardware is no longer. It’s now Warren Hardware and is still located at 1420 Pelham Road S.

“We’re still the same store in the same location, and we’re still the same people,” said Tomlinson. “Chuck and I have owned the store for the past 20 years. My parents owned it 14 before that. They bought it from Seymour West who opened the store on the square in the ‘50s.”

Debbie said that she, Chuck and their employees promise their customers the same service and same quality products.

“The past three years have been very challenging for us,” said Tomlinson. “We have wonderful customers, and we’re very happy to say that they’ve stayed with us and we appreciate that very much. We’ll continue to give everyone our personal attention.”

Tomlinson reiterates that the only thing that has changed at Warren Hardware is the sign in front of the building. The new sign will be up in about two weeks, letting everyone know that the store is now operating under the name Warren Hardware.

Along with the Tomlinsons, Warren Hardware has four part-time employees, who are students at Jacksonville State University.

“We work with them around their schedules,” said Tomlinson. “We tell everyone we raise kids here. The last three that worked with us have gone into police work.”

Tomlinson’s parents are Calvin and Ruby Warren.
