Jacksonville Christian Outreach Center will begin distributing school supplies for students of low income families living in the Jacksonville 36265 area at 10 a.m. Aug. 4. The center closes at 2 p.m.

JCOC must have an up-to-date application including proof of residence, a first class piece of mail received within the past 30 days at current address (no post office box will be accepted), an ID card for head of household, Social Security cards for all living in household, proof of income for all living in household and food stamp letter.

Due to the large number of clients the center assists, parents are asked to not bring their children. Children can’t be left alone in the parking lot or in cars.

JCOC is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday weekly. It is at 206 W. Francis St. The phone number is 256-435-1891. Volunteers will continue to distribute school supplies each day as long as supplies are available.
