Jacksonville Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 3948 donated $500 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama recently.

The money is earmarked for any resident of Jacksonville that may need to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham. The money is funded from JPFFA’s JAX Charities Fund.

“JPFFA is extending its reach with this donation,” said Local 3948 president David Bell. “It’s an extension of our work here in Jacksonville. Additionally, JPFFA members have also had to use RMHC in the past.”

Last year five families from Jacksonville used the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham for an average stay of 16 days.

The money is raised through Local 3948’s projects.

“Just as we promised, the money is going back into the community,” said Bell. “Because we’ve had personal experience with our own people having to use the Ronald McDonald house, we wanted to donate to that as an extension of our work.”
