Star photographers Trent Penny, Kevin Qualls, Bill Wilson and Steve Gross selected what they believe to be their best published photos from January through March of 2007.

Anniston Star readers then voted "Peanuts" by Stephen Gross as their favorite photo of the first quarter. Here's what Stephen had to say about his winning photo, which featured James Young proudly holding a handful of his freshly roasted peanuts:

"My assignment was to get Mr. Young and his wife, Ruby Young, roasting up a batch of peanuts and selling them for their church,” Gross said. “I knew I was onto a good shoot as Mr. Young was showing me the process he and Mrs. Young go through to produce the peanuts. It is a labor of love for the Youngs and it shows in the photos!"
