With the announcement that Cameo and Whodini are performing at Zinn Park June 28 for the city’s annual Heritage Festival, we got thinking — who is the next performer we want to see in Anniston? Along with our list of suggestions (PM Dawn and Arrested Development were among them) came the crashing realization of just how expensive it can be to book a mainstream performer.
Thanks to information recently release by Degy Entertainment (via priceonomics), you can get an idea how just how much your favorite performer demands for your time. The Justins (Timberlake or the Beebs) can command $1 million for a show. Want to be “Happy” with Pharrell? He’s (comparably) a deal at only $125,000-$175,000 per performance.
Bands in what we imagine is Anniston’s price range (up to $20,000) include:
Bo Bice — $3,500-$12,500 depending on if he’s solo or brings a band
Dave Matthews Tribute Band — $5,000-$10,000 (the actual DMB is in the $1 million or more range)
PM Dawn — $5,000-$10,000
Eve 6 — $15,000-$20,000
So answer our question two ways: Who would you like to see perform in Anniston, and who do you think the city can feasibly afford?
